Current status Following our reversion of the problematic code change, we've monitored service telemetry and worked with previously impacted customers to confirm that service is restored.
User impact Users may have experienced issues with one or more Microsoft 365 services.
More info Impact scenarios from this event included: • Users were unable to authenticate to Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange and Outlook. • Users were able to authenticate to Microsoft Teams; however, users experienced degraded functionality including impact to chat/team creation and search. • Users experienced issues with connectors/flows in the Microsoft Power Platform and logic apps. • Users received 500 errors and were unable to access the Purview service. Scope of impact Any user attempting to access or use the services and features outlined within the 'More info' section of this communication were impacted.
Root cause A recent update to our authentication systems contained a code issue, resulting in impact.
Next steps • We're reviewing our change management process to better understand how the impacting change was not detected in our testing cycle. • We're reviewing all related service telemetry as we work to produce a post-incident report. We'll produce a preliminary post-incident report in two business days, and a final post-incident report in five business days.

Current status: We've confirmed that reverting the impacting service update has returned the service to a healthy state. We’ve entered a period of extended monitoring to ensure that the service remains stable, and to address any outstanding impact to other Microsoft 365 services.

We've identified a recent code change to a portion of service infrastructure that we suspect is causing impact. We've reverted the code change, and we're monitoring service health telemetry to confirm if the reversion is returning service to expected functionality. Investigating
We are aware of an issue preventing users from accessing Exchange Online services, including email and calendar. This appears to impact multiple connection methods, including Outlook apps, Outlook on the web, and built-in Mail and Calendar apps on Apple and Android devices.
At this time, Microsoft has not officially acknowledged the issue, but reports indicate it is affecting users globally, not just those at Ohio University.
