Scheduled - We have just become aware that Panopto Lecture Capture will require an update to their recording software starting at 8pm EDT this Thursday, July 18. This only affects individuals who use Panopto to create video or audio recordings. If you only need to view videos, no changes are required.

If you plan to make a Panopto recording during a class or in another setting where time is limited, we recommend updating your software in advance. That way, you can avoid having to install the update during your class time.

How to see if you need the update

Windows

1. Select Panopto from your Start/Home menu.
2. Log into the recorder software with your OHIO email address and password.
3. Select Settings from the top menu.
4. In the bottom right corner of the settings page you will see a number, like 5.7.0. If the first number is less than 6 (as in the example), your Panopto software will need to be updated. See below for instructions.

Mac

1. Select Panopto from your Applications folder.
2. Log into the recorder software with your OHIO email address and password.
3. From the Panopto menu, select About Panopto.
4. Your version number will be displayed in a pop-up window, like 5.7.0. If the first number in your version is less than 6, your software will need to be updated. See below for instructions.

How to install the update

1. Visit the OIT Panopto home page and click the login link.
2. Log into Panopto with your OHIO email address and password.
3. In the upper right side of your Panopto screen, near your name, choose Download Panopto.
4. When the download finishes, navigate to wherever your computer stores your downloaded files, and double click on the Panopto installer.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the updated software.

Microsoft has been working to deploy a fix for the calendar issues reported and has verified with some users that they're no longer experiencing the issue. We expect that the amount of users encountering this problem will decrease as the fix progresses.
